Derpy Meets Dr. Seuss by Natsu714 Derpy Meets Dr. Seuss by Natsu714
I had a fantastic idea. "HEY!! Derpy's so innocent and... Derpy. So, she'd be PERFECT with Dr. Seuss!!"

And so I drew a few Dr. Seuss pictures to get a hang of his style.

Then I drew this.

Tell me what you guys think. I friggin' LOVE Dr. Seuss, and I friggin' LOVE Derpy. ;D

August 2013 Edit: By the way, people often tell me that I should've added more scribbles to the background if I wanted to make it look even MORE Dr. Suess-ish, but... Guys, I drew that background while studying some of the trees and bushes in his books, and they didn't have any scribbles on some of them. :P

Wow. Fantastic.
You were very true to Dr Seuss's style and themes - Derpy fits perfectly with the characters of Dr Seuss.
I was really surprised by how well the colors matched and blended, making it seem like a genuine Dr Seuss piece.
The hat sits a bit high on her head, and her ears are a bit distorted, but both aren't out of place.
I love how you used white as a color, rather than a background. It's often ignored, but this drawing, by using the clear background gives the white more distinction.
The perspective is a tad off with her back hooves: the left should be bigger than the right. Currently the left is a bit smaller (though granted, at a different angle).
The bushes and tree in the background are devoid of texture, and adding a few lines scattered throughout would bring your style closer to Seuss's.

Overall, a delightsome piece! Thanks for drawing it!

This piece is unique, adorable, and overall very well done! Just the idea of Derpy in Dr. Seuss's magical made up world makes perfect sense, not to mention makes her even more adorable (if that's even possible). She fits in like Dr. Seuss created her. The vision clearly portrays Dr. Seuss's whimsical style while retaining Derpy's personality and, well, Derpyness. :) Her eyes and her position are well placed. Your technique is almost flawless, mimicking Dr. Seuss's style almost perfectly. I would agree that the background needs a bit more texture, most notably the tree, but that is only a small detail. Your piece is just so adorable, great job!
